Cambodian government tells garment workers
not to march on International Women's Day
The Cambodian government has told garment workers not to march on International Women's Day, Saturday March 8. But the mostly women workers are determined to march and fight for decent wages and working conditions. IndustriALL, the global union federation which represents garment workers at the world level, has issued a call for unionists around the world to help the Cambodian garment workers. They are being asked to sign a petition on LabourStart at: www.labourstart.org. RadioLabour interviewed Monika Kemperle, the Assistant General Secretary of IndustriALL, about the situation in Cambodia.
