RadioLabour is proposing to build a global service which can help English-learning unionists participate more successfully in their international labour organisations and understand the movement’s views about issues such as decent work, equality, climate change, social justice and more. It will include an audio newscast, scripts in English and many other languages plus an English language lesson - all based on union issues and activities. The lessons will be free of charge.
Here is a prototype lesson: First EAL lesson
RadioLabour's EAL lessons project will not be a success unless people like you show their support. Please sign the petition.

I’m a big fan of RadioLabour. In order to improve my listening, I also listen to America Work Force podcast. I’m desperate for English as an Additional Language Lessons for unionists. Then, I can connect with foreign labor unions and improve our solidarity.

The methods of assembling the program and the path of studies looks very good to me. I'm glad you call it English as an ADDITIONAL language. Many programs like this have called them English as a SECOND language. This recognizes that many participants have several languages already, and that they are proficient enough in studying that they have succeeded in this kind of pursuit before. I worked at a university that offered both ESL and English Upgrading, so I appreciated the thought given to this.

This seems to me to be a very good idea. If more and more people active in the international Labour Movement can communicate in English, it can only be a plus for the latter.

Support the RadioLabour Project. It will be an important tool among others in making people understand more about labour movement. Bringing comrades together through this programe will deepen understanding of how to tackle the different challenges faced by workers and their respective Trade Unions since there will be sharing of different encounters from a wider scope and without neccesarily having to meet physically.
